Three Types of Vanilla from Indonesia

Direct supply chain, from the plantation to aging. Each batch is identified by its region of origin, harvest date, and aging period. Our vanilla is not distributed by any other importer in France.

Gourmet Beans — Vanilla planifolia

Grown using agroforestry methods on volcanic soil, in the shade of banana and cacao trees. Hand-pollinated flower by flower, selectively harvested at full maturity (approximately 9 months), sun-dried under a dome, then slowly aged through a double fermentation process inspired by the Bourbon method.

Gousse Rare — Vanilla tahitensis

Variété rare, peu présente sur le marché français. Affinage exceptionnellement long — une année complète — qui développe une signature aromatique sans équivalent chez la Planifolia.

Concentré de Vanille — Coeur de Vanille

A concentrate, not a sweetened paste. Cured beans extracted at a three-toone ratio, with vanilla seeds and vanilla powder added: 1.4 to 1.5 kg of beans per 1 kg of finished product.

Why Kawanga

Vanilla from the latest harvest

Every lot carries its harvest date and the date curing was completed. We do not sell speculative stock: our campaign is harvested in June and July and available from December of the same year. A young bean is more supple, fleshier and more intense than one held for years waiting for prices to rise.

We know the ground

A French-Indonesian house. We travel to origin, we know our processing partner personally, we have seen the plantations and the curing facilities. This is not catalogue sourcing

Gourmet selection only

Single grade in Planifolia, whole beans only. Our vanillas pass through no other French importer.

Real traceability

We know which region each bean comes from, in which facility it was cured and for how long. North Sulawesi for the Planifolia, Papua for the Tahitensis. Lot number, origin and dates appear on every pack

Short supply chain

Two links between the plantation and your kitchen, where the conventional chain has five or six — village collectors, exporter, broker, importer, wholesaler. Fewer intermediaries means better value, and an answer to your technical questions within days.

Fair partnerships

Fair payment to Indonesian growers and sustainable growing practices, with a long-term view of supply chain stability
